API Our Heritage 5K - AAPI Landmark Journey Through San Francisco

  • Japantown Peace Plaza 1610 Geary Boulevard San Francisco, CA, 94115 United States (map)

THIS IS A FAMILY-FRIENDLY FUN RUN THROUGH THE HEART OF SAN FRANCISCO WHERE WE WILL PASS BY KEY AAPI LANDMARKS.

THERE WILL BE PHOTO OPS, ACTIVITIES, SNACKS, MUSIC, AND MORE!

Participants are welcome at 9:40 am at Japantown Peace Plaza. The first 200 participants will get a free Our Heritage 5K t-shirt. All participants should get a wristband that gives them access to bathrooms and surprise giveaways. At 10:05 sharp, we will blow the airhorn to kick off the 5K from Japantown towards Little Saigon, Opera Plaza, Tenderloin, Market Street, Chinatown, and ending at Portsmouth Square for finishers’ celebration to mark the end of our AAPI Heritage Month.

The route is marked with orange ribbons that will guide you to each landmark. Each landmark will have volunteers, photo ops, facts about their rich significance, and even some surprise activities.

Most of the route is flat or downhill except for Chinatown towards the end where there will be a hill to conquer. But! You will be greatly rewarded with surprise giveaways in the alleys that will lead participants toward the finishing line at Portsmouth Square.

Cheering spectators will be ready to celebrate your finish! The first to arrive at Portsmouth Square will have the special honor of breaking the “Asians Are Strong” finishing line tape!
