Join us at the Center for a special, one-time only multi-course vegan dining event with community chef Alan Hirahara. Seasoned in hosting and presenting his own private multi-course dinners out of home and catering countless parties, Chef Hirahara knows the ins and outs of good food and how to serve it. The Center is excited to provide a unique menu from Chef Hirahara highlighting the beauty and taste of Japanese-inspired vegan cuisine. Our dining event with Chef Hirahara will comprise ten main tasting dishes, followed by several intermezzos and a dessert. We encourage everyone to come out, bring friends or family, and help us give Chef Hirahara a warm welcome as we savor his culinary artistry.

About Chef Alan Hirahara
Alan Hirahara graduated with a business degree from Santa Clara University, but soon after college, realized his passion for cooking. He started as a dishwasher in Denali National Park, working his way into a prep cook position, then moved to Mammoth Lakes, where he trained to be a sushi chef and would eventually take on the head sushi chef role for eleven years. He then returned to the Bay Area and attended California Culinary School. Upon graduating, he worked as a line cook at Azie Restaurant in San Francisco, in addition to taking on local catering opportunities. Chef Hirahara would then work as private chef in Hillsborough for eleven years, while also leading a sushi catering business. Now, he is looking to give back to the community, offering his time for volunteering in the Japanese American community, while also sharing his love and passion for cooking with everyone he can.
