Join us for the seventh Nikkei Angel Island Pilgrimage to honor our immigrant pioneers and rediscover the little-known history of the Japanese and Japanese American legacy at Angel Island, where up to 85,000 persons of Japanese descent — the second largest immigrant group — landed between 1910 to 1940, before setting foot in America.

The Pilgrimage includes:

  • Exhibits at the Angel Island Immigration Museum

  • FREE Family History Consultations with the California Genealogical Society

  • Presentation by SFSU Provost Amy Sueyoshi

  • Taiko performances by IWA DAIKO

  • Bon Odori dancing to honor ancestors

  • Delicious Japanese bento lunches
